Earlier this term we were delighted to share the excellent SATs results achieved by Year 6 this year.

We were thrilled therefore to see that The Sunday Times, on 16th November,  have recognised these outstanding results placing Newcastle High School for Girls number 33 in the top 100 Independent Preparatory Schools in the country.

We have moved up the rankings 19 places. Our results do indeed show that we are achieving far beyond the expected national levels of an eleven year old and that is something that we constantly aim to achieve.

The results do not, however, show the whole picture. The girls in Junior School do achieve extraordinarily well, but most importantly they are all happy and enjoy coming to school. Our curriculum stimulates the girls’ minds both indoors and outdoors. Our focus on basic transferable skills ensures that every girl has the solid foundation to take her into Senior School and beyond.

We do believe in educating the whole child and our curriculum enables us to do this. Every girl has personal targets – she knows what her next steps are and she knows what she has to do to achieve them. It is all about the journey she makes from the moment she starts school and how she grows as an individual.
