It wasn’t until the end of Year 11 and the beginning of Sixth Form that Amelia Foo from Gosforth set her heart on becoming a Vet, and after gaining two A*s and a B in Biology, Psychology and Chemistry at A Level, she is on the first rung to achieving her ambition.

With news of her fabulous results, Amelia’s place at Nottingham University to study Veterinary Medicine was confirmed.

Amelia explained the reasons for her choices: “I have always liked animals but it wasn’t until I had some work experience at a vet practice that I made my decision. I really like the combination of working with people and animals and came to the conclusion that it was something I wanted to pursue as a career.  I knew that getting onto Vet Med course would be tough but I just thought I would give it a go.  Nottingham offers a really practical course and I will actually be based 20 minutes outside of the city in the countryside for the next five years which will be great.”

“I am really happy, but I am also happy for my teachers who have also worked so hard to help me.”
