An audience gathered in the Music Recital Room on Thursday 12th March to listen to celebrated cellist, Jonathan Bloxham. His recital included favourites from the repertoire such as Saint-Saens The Swan, Faure’s Apres Un Reve as well as less familiar works such as Brahms’ cello sonata.
The following day Jonathan conducted the school’s Senior orchestra, rehearsing pieces with them that they are currently preparing for the Spring Concert. His insight into how to achieve a unified sound was invaluable, particularly for the string players.
Jonathan will be working with the Choir on Mozart’s Requiem as part of Northern Chords Festival in May.
