3 A*s Classic Civilisation, Philosophy and RS.
“I got 3 A*s and I’m off to Cambridge. I really can’t believe it!” said Arabella Lawler from Wylam.
“I can’t feel happy yet – it is just overwhelming relief. I can’t stop smiling, my face actually hurts!”
A Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) trip to Cambridge in Year 12 cemented Arabella’s desire to try for Oxbridge and she ended up applying to Clare College, Cambridge, the same College and University she stayed at on her visit.
“The idea of going to Cambridge where I’ll be studying with leaders in my chosen field is hugely exciting. After spending three nights and two days in Clare College on a GDST trip, I made it my first choice for Uni. None of my family has been to Oxbridge so they are all very excited.
“The School and my teachers have been the biggest driving force for me wanting to go to Cambridge and helping me get there. There is tremendous support for Oxbridge candidates, including talks from old girls who have been to Oxbridge and GDST trips around various Colleges, which all helped convince me that this was the University for me.”
