Directions

From the North via the A1
Leave the A1 southbound at the City North/Gosforth Park exit and via the B1318 for approximately 2.5 miles into Gosforth High Street. From here:

Junior School
Continue through Gosforth High Street to the Blue House Roundabout. Go straight on remaining in the left lane until you see an overhead sign for A1058 Tynemouth and East directing you to the left. Take this slip road and move into the right hand lane. At the first set of traffic lights go straight on to another set of lights. Turn right on to Portland Terrace. At the traffic lights turn left onto Sandyford Road. After approximately 500 metres you will see a sign for the School on the right hand side.

Senior School
Continue for a further 1.5 miles, crossing the Blue House roundabout and a set of traffic lights on the way. Keep to the left hand lane and immediately after the sign for A167 and Eldon Square turn left at a slip road signposted for prohibited traffic onto Clayton Road. After the shops, turn left onto Burdon Terrace and left again (also Burdon Terrace). Tankerville Terrace is the on the right.

From the South via the A1
Leave the A1 western route and join the A167 northbound for the Tyne Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight on and through two underpasses. From here:

Junior School
Take the first slip road on the right signposted to A1058 Coast and East. Stay in the right hand lane. At the traffic lights go straight on to another set of lights. Turn right on to Portland Terrace. At the traffic lights turn left on to Sandyford Road. After approximately 500 metres you will see a sign for the School on the right hand side.

Senior School
Take the first slip road on the right signposted to A1058 Coast and East. Move into the left hand lane. At the traffic lights turn left onto Osborne Road and continue on approximately 400 metres to traffic lights. Turn left at the lights onto Clayton Road. Turn right onto Burdon Terrace then turn left (also Burdon Terrace). Tankerville Terrace is the on the right.

From the East (or North and South) via the A19
From the A19 take the A1058 eastbound. Travel four miles to reach the traffic lights at the Corner House. Carry straight on then pass through a road tunnel. 400 metres beyond the road tunnel you will reach a traffic light controlled Y junction. From here:

Junior School
Bear left, follow the B1037 Sandyford sign and join Sandyford Road. Turn into Chapman House grounds after 150 metres.

Senior School
Stay on the A1058 (bearing right at the Y junction). Take the right hand lane and travel for a further 400 metres to reach two sets of traffic lights placed close together. Cross the first and turn right at the second onto Osborne Road (B1309). After 400 metres turn left at traffic lights onto Clayton Road. Turn right onto Burdon Terrace then turn left (also Burdon Terrace). Tankerville Terrace is the on the right.
