Maddie Carter from Stocksfield in Northumberland found herself celebrating for a second time on A Level Results Day after securing top grades of A in Drama and Bs in Spanish and English Literature.

However, Maddie was one of the few people not waiting for her results to determine her next steps.  That’s because she had already been accepted for a foundation course at the prestigious Rose Bruford College’s recently opened performance and training venue in Edinburgh.

Maddie explained: “The Drama School prepares you for an Acting degree – and I will be training in Music, singing and dancing.”

With teaching from dancers from the Ballet Rambert among others, the experience will offer Maddie an excellent start in her ambition to become an actor.

Maddie has Acting in her blood and has built up a strong repertoire already; she has been one of the shining stars in drama productions at School – recently playing Penny Pingleton in Newcastle High’s acclaimed production of the Musical Hairspray at the Northern Stage.

Maddie added: “I hope that after eventually completing the degree I will go into the acting and film industry but today I am just relieved that my A Levels went well and I am very pleased with my A in Drama!”
