The Spring term came to an exciting end for Key Stage 1 with what has become an NHSG tradition: the House Easter Egg Rolling Competition. Girls were asked to bring a decorated egg into school for rolling. From a Planet Earth design to a patterned egg, Year 1 and 2 never fail to impress their teachers with their imaginative ideas.
The girls were quick to organise themselves into Houses before the rolling heats commenced. After the first heat, the Final took place watched carefully by all of Key Stage 1 to see who would achieve the winning rolls and be awarded their Easter egg prizes.
Following the Final we saw a new custom of the Teachers’ Egg Roll, thanks to beautifully decorated eggs provided by Mrs Hill and a couple borrowed from girls!
Although the last week of term was a mixture of weather, our egg rolling event was another demonstration of how the girls managed to enjoy many fun activities both indoors and out.
