On Friday 23rd March, World Book Day (previously delayed by the Beast from the East) joined forces with COCO charity for a spectacular event: a book and film fun run.

Girls came to school dressed as a book or film character of their choice and were joined by representatives from COCO charity and sponsors Womble Bond Dickinson.

The aim of the fun run was to create a video of the run to be played at the Newcastle International Film Festival launch dinner that evening.

Girls from Nursery to Year 6 took part with staggered start times, with Key Stage 1 running the 1km lap and Key Stage 2 girls running the full 2km course.
We had a fantastic array of costumes on display and it was wonderful to see the obvious pleasure the girls took from taking part.

To finish, all runners were awarded a special medal by COCO and Womble Bond Dickinson.

Well done, girls for a super effort!
