NHSG - Scarlett’s disbelief is replaced by relief on achieving a string of top GCSE grades

Scarlett’s disbelief is replaced by relief on achieving a string of top GCSE grades

August 25, 2022

It’s been a nerve-wracking few weeks for Scarlett Hardie who has been eagerly waiting for her GCSE results.

“I was nervous but also at the same time trying to accept what would be would be, so when I was opening my results envelope, I couldn’t quite believe it,” says Scarlett who learned today that she had achieved outstanding GCSE grades included five grade 9s, two grade 8s and two grade 7s.

“I feel surprised, shocked and really happy all at the same time. I still can’t quite believe I got a grade 9 in Chemistry – the highest grade I have ever achieved in that subject.  I am very pleased with that!”

Once the ‘shock’ has subsided, Scarlett is planning on celebrating her achievements with her family, before starting to prepare for the new school term in September and life in the Sixth Form at NHSG.

“I have chosen Psychology and Economics at A Level because the courses look so interesting and they are not subjects I have studied before, and I will also be taking Biology as it has been one of my favourite GCSE subjects.”

Scarlett says she’s still thinking about what she wants to do in the future, but she has plenty of time and support on hand over the next two years to help her with her decisions.
