Star pupil Lauren Baldwin, 18, from Palmersville, celebrated an incredible 4A*s today and will now takDated: 13/08/2015 Students from Newcastle High School for Girls receive their A-Level results this morning (THURS) for the first time in the school's history, following last year's merger between Central High School and Church High School to create the new independent school. Lauren Baldwin #NorthNewsAndPictures/2daymediae up her place to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge University. She picked up 3 A* results in Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths. Lauren said: “I was so nervous about today and I’m just overwhelmed to have achieved these results. I was shocked at first, I didn’t know how to react!

“I have always enjoyed science and I’m really looking forward to taking up my place to study Physical Natural Sciences at Cambridge. I’m passionate about debating as well and this is something I hope to continue. I also love the city of Cambridge. I’ll be sad to leave Newcastle High, I’ll miss lots of people, but I also feel ready to move on to the next part of my life.”

Sarah Davies 2A*s and an A #NorthNewsAndPictures/2daymedialace to study Modern Languages at Oxford, after scooping an impressive 2A* and an A in her A Levels. Sarah excels at languages gaining her A*s in German and Spanish. Speaking on the day, she said: “I’ve always loved languages and through school have had so many opportunities to further this – including a German exchange trip and visit to Madrid. I’ve been here since Nursery and I’m going to miss school a lot, but it does feel like a natural step and I’m looking forward to things to come.”
