Former Sports Captain at Newcastle High Lucy Cottee admits that she was attracted to the university’s small, friendly environment because it felt so familiar and very like school.

Lucy said:
“I’ve been at Newcastle High since Year 1 and I have loved every minute of it.”

Gaining 3 As at A level has set the bar high for Lucy’s five younger sisters who are all delighted by her results and that she has got into her first choice Uni.

A keen sportswoman, Lucy is looking forward to continuing sport at St Andrews and is hoping to take up a new team sport, with Lacrosse on her list of games to try.

Lucy added:

“My Dad loves golf so I’m sure he’ll be up regularly to visit me.  I didn’t think my mum would miss me that much, because there are so many more of us at home but she was quite emotional this morning when I told her I was in to St Andrews after finding out on UCAS Tracking before I came into school.”
