Sound interesting?

The Reece Foundation bursaries offer you an excellent foundation for the future. Not only will you be studying
A Levels at the leading school for girls in the region, but you will have the very best support as you prepare for your future in engineering.

We would love to hear from you if you are:

  • Passionate about pursuing a career in engineering and intend to follow a higher education course in an engineering discipline
  • Planning to take A Levels in Physics and Maths plus one other subject
  • Currently attending a maintained school and have no previous connection with Newcastle High School for Girls

Are you eligible?

Family income: There is one  Reece Foundation means-tested bursary available for up to 100% of school fees for the duration of two years at Sixth Form, Newcastle High School for Girls.

If your family’s assessable income and resources will be below £85,000 a year you may be eligible for some support and if your family’s annual income is less than £35,000 you may be offered a full bursary (for families whose annual income is between these levels, a sliding scale determines the amount of assistance they may be offered).

GCSE Grades: You should be aiming to achieve grades of A or A* in at least six of nine or ten GCSE passes (including at least an A in subjects to be studied at A Level).

Making an Application

Your parents will need to complete the NHSG application form and your application should also include a letter explaining your aspirations in connection with a career in engineering. Your parents will also be asked to provide information about their annual income.

If considered a suitable applicant, you will be invited to an interview with the Head of Newcastle High School for Girls and a Trustee from the Reece Foundation.
