Senior School girls, parents and staff gathered in the Hall on Friday 6th July to celebrate another year of fantastic achievements at NHSG.

Mr Tippett kick-started the celebrations by presenting NHSG Gold Awards to those girls who demonstrated this exceptional level of commitments to the co-curricular life of the school – in clubs, House activities and service.

Girls from Year 7 to 10 hosted the remainder of the afternoon, presenting a series of talks on trips and learning experiences, interspersed with energetic Music, Dance and Drama performances on a variety of topics from Shakespeare to Matilda.

Additional highlights included watching an inspirational film created by Year 10 pupils for International Women’s Day on the first ever female Formula 1 driver, Maria Teresa de Filippis.

The audience also enjoyed a reprise of Year 9’s textiles work, first showcased in the fashion show earlier in the year.

The afternoon concluded with a bang as a selection of Sixth Form girls joined Years 7-10 to perform a spectacular number from the School’s 2018 musical Hairspray. The piece was followed by the hotly-anticipated announcement revealing NHSG’s 2019 musical, which we were all delighted to find out is Oliver!

Of course, it wouldn’t be the end of term without ice-creams and refreshing drinks on the Pupil Plaza, as everyone gathered in the sunshine to say their farewells before the Summer holiday.

We hope everyone has a restful break and we look forward to seeing you all in September.
