The Carrie household has more reasons to celebrate than most today after Emma received her phenomenal results. Emma, whose twin siblings received their A level results last week, got a clean sweep of all A*s in her 10 GCSEs. Her big sister, Alex who also went to Newcastle High School gained an A* and 2 As in her A levels and is off to study medicine.
Emma will be going on to study Physics, Maths and Geography with no firm idea what she wants to do after that.
Emma said: “There are so many different options available, I know I want to do something with science, maybe engineering or something broader. I’ve chosen Physics because I know I’m good at it, and Geography because I really enjoy it.
“My work experience has been really helpful in helping me consider engineering and rule out medicine, I didn’t think it was for me. My sister is off to study medicine in Bristol and my brother is going to Nottingham to study French and International Relations – so it has been a busy few weeks for the family.
“I was so stressed before opening the results envelope, I had high hopes but wasn’t too sure that the exams had gone as well as I would have liked, thankfully my concerns were unnecessary. I’m going to a friend’s tonight to celebrate – I’m both excited and massively relieved.”
