Newcastle High School for Girls is the North East’s leading independent girls’ day school. Founded in 2014 following the merger of two long-standing predecessor schools, NHSG is a state-of-the-art, modern school with a tradition and history stemming back 150 years.

Where we're located
We are an all through school (ages 3-18) and the Junior and Senior Schools occupy their own separate campuses around a mile apart. Boasting outstanding facilities and resources, our two campuses are situated within the suburban, leafy, areas of Sandyford and Jesmond, with excellent transport links to the Tyne and Wear Metro and bus services from across the region.

Initial Teacher Training
Newcastle High School for Girls works in close partnership with Whitburn Church of England Academy to deliver high class Initial Teacher Training (ITT). This unique partnership offers ITT students the opportunity to train in the independent and state sectors, experiencing the best of both for high quality school led training. Whitburn Church of England Academy, formerly the Lead school in the Prince Bishop Teaching School Alliance, has an excellent reputation for training and supporting new entrants to the profession. We offer high quality mentoring and support for all our trainees as well as first class facilities and ongoing professional development.

Administrator

Permanent – immediate vacancy, 36 hours per week working Monday to Friday, 8.00 am – 4.00 pm, 196 days per year.
Salary: Full time salary £21,504 – pro rata for 196 days per year £18,985
Start: 27 February 2023
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and multi-skilled administrator who will work within the whole-school data and administration team to support the effective functioning of all areas of the school. This varied role offers an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to make a significant impact to the running of the school through their flexible approach to customer service and support, some reception duties may be included. NHSG is fully committed to providing training and support to the successful candidate.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and multi-skilled administrator who will work within the whole-school data and administration team to support the effective functioning of all areas of the school.  The role will include covering the School’s main Reception, and therefore the successful candidate will be the first port of call for parents, pupils and visitors to the school.  This varied role offers an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to make a significant impact to the running of the school through their flexible approach to customer service and support.  NHSG is fully committed to providing training and support to the successful candidate.

Invigilator

To be available to work Mon – Fri, and available from 8.00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Salary: Casual Contract paying £10.90 per hour
Start: 17 April 2023
We are looking for people who have time available during term-time to work as Exam Invigilators. You will be working on a casual basis to supervise students taking school examinations and to ensure that exams are carried out according to the rules set out by the exam board.
Closing Date: 17th February 2023 at noon. You must be available for interview week commencing 27th February 2023.

Newcastle High School for Girls is seeking an engaging and passionate practitioner to lead provision for SEND and EAL pupils across our thriving Senior School, in an environment where individuality is both nurtured and celebrated. The successful candidate will have the ability to promote and coordinate SEND and EAL provision across the school, manage individual pupil learning pathways, and drive forward the very best support for pupils with additional needs. They will already have significant experience in planning tailored curriculum provision for individuals and small groups, and in supporting colleagues on effective intervention and strategies.  The ability to carry out assessments to identify learning difficulties and for examination access arrangements is desirable, as is previous knowledge and experience around supporting EAL pupils.
Closing Date: Monday 6th February 2023 (12 noon). Interviews will take place on Tuesday 14th February 2023 and you must be available on that date.
