After collecting two A grades and an A* in her A Level, Katie Sajjanhar declared: “I feel like the world is my oyster!”
“My grades are such a great surprise and I was so nervous on my way to school this morning to collect my results – my legs felt like jelly. Although I was predicted to get two As and a B. I was anticipating three Bs so I am really pleased.”
Katie will now be taking up her place at Glasgow University to read Geography, although two years ago this was not the path she was intending to take.
She explained: “I did not originally choose Geography as an A Level. ! I began Sixth Form with English, Biology and Religious Studies. I then switched RS for Politics but still wasn’t convinced so moved onto the Geography course as a last resort.”
This proved to be a life changing decision for Katie.
She said: “Everything fell into place following my decision to take Geography at A Level and it changed my whole thinking about the future. I loved the course and my teachers were so passionate and inspiring – I can’t say enough about them and I wanted to do well for them as well as me! “Geography is so very applicable and topical to life today and the course at Glasgow looks great. It’s very broad, and as at all Scottish universities, I will be exposed to other subjects too.
“I am going to take all opportunities that come my way – and will to continue to work hard and enjoy myself.”
