Girls in Year 12 were thinking ahead at the end of term, with a series of workshops and events to inspire and guide them in their university and career choices.
In Year 13, the girls will have to make important decisions for their future, and our “Into your future – life after NHSG” programme is designed to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to make informed choices and access all the opportunities available to them. Sessions ranged from practical information on the UCAS process to visits from the GDST CareerStart team to build networking and public speaking skills.
On Monday 19th June, Year 12 had their chance to experience real-life networking by hosting a Summer Drinks Reception for guests from a variety of sectors. The event was a great opportunity to learn more about different career paths, and some even managed to secure work experience!
The Higher Education Evening on Thursday 22nd provided a comprehensive overview of the breadth of opportunities available after leaving school. We welcomed representatives from 20 universities – including nine Russell Group universities and one international university – three armed forces and two major international employers.
School leavers today will be entering a world where work experience and extra skills are increasingly important to make them stand out from the thousands of other graduates. These events have given our girls a glimpse of the futures on offer to them, while also providing them with insight into the qualifications, work experience and skills they need to acquire to achieve their goals.
