On Monday 25th September, while gearing up for the 2017 British Masters, Close House made time to welcome some VIPS: NHSG Year 3. Mr and Mrs Wylie kindly invited the girls to experience for themselves the build-up and excitement behind the scenes before the world class tournament began.
Close House Golf Course was chosen as the official venue of the British Masters this year. The event was hosted by Lee Westwood, Close House’s tour professional and former World Number 1 golfer.
Our budding golfers were treated to a sneak preview of the Grandstand, marquees and hospitality area and were especially thrilled when Lee Westwood appeared in the pavilion to speak with them. Lee had even organised a mini golf tournament with fellow professional golfers which the girls watched from the main grandstand. Each golfer was wearing a yellow, green, red or blue cap – NHSG House colours!
Following the Golf showcase the girls were taken on a tour of the beautiful course by Mr and Mrs Wylie – a huge thank you to both for taking time to allow our girls to sample a little of the Masters.
Hopefully the visit has ignited a new passion in the girls – wouldn’t it be fabulous to see one of them playing at the British Masters one day!
